18. Alternative Pretreatment Technologies - High Performance and Environment-Friendly

New pretreatment technologies allow paint operations to maintain performance and quality on all metal substrates while reducing both environmental impact and operating costs. These new technologies contain no or low amounts of phosphorous, and are heavy-metal free. Silanes and reactive phosphonate chemistries operate at lower temperatures and with reduced water consumption, thus increasing profitability. This presentation will discuss these new technologies and their applicability to a wide variety of substrates and industries. Performance data will also be presented.
