25. Improved Transfer Efficiency Through Better Process Control

First pass transfer efficiency (TE) has a dramatic effect on the profitability of a powder coating operation.  Even with total reclaim, first pass transfer efficiency can make an enormous impact on the economics of powder coating since overall system efficiency. In practice, transfer efficiency is directly related to uniform film build and quality.  This session will present important concepts of first pass TE in both economic and technical terms and will identify those process control variables of a powder system likely to have the impact on TE and review methods for controlling them and improving overall performance. Economic models will be included.
