This presentation explores the mechanical, physical, appearance, high temperature, electrical and corrosion resistance properties of porcelain enamel. Attributes and benefits for the use of porcelain enamel in typical applications are presented. The session will review the basic processing procedures for the design, selection, application and production of porcelain enamel coatings. In conclusion, major product applications, reasons for the choice of porcelain enamel and new porcelain enamel materials will be described. Participants are encouraged to bring “problem parts” or current challenges in P/E for discussion – the speaker will entertain questions and discuss how the industry is using porcelain enamel to solve many problems in severe service environments.
